Health

Goal

To build capacities of rural community to enable them to lead the processes for pursuing healthy life.

Objectives

  • Increase awareness of the community about basic health care and develop their capacity to assess, demand and monitor quality of health services at local level by organizing and training them.
  • Develop platforms at village and block level for sharing, experimenting and solving the emerging and upcoming health issues.
  • Use existing platforms like community based institutions like SHGs for generating awareness, obtaining knowledge and securing health of rural women.
  • Develop a cadre of rural women health jankars who shall serve as resource person in rural preventive health care in their own and neighboring villages.
  • Bridge gap between community and local health institutions (government & private) to enable access to timely and affordable health services to the poor

Major activities

  • Conduct workshops and meetings for generating health awareness and organizing and mobilizing people for health advocacy.
  • Build and strengthen village level water, sanitation, hygiene, health and nutrition committees.
  • Facilitate community health security / Mutual health coverage through SHGs
  • Provide trainings to rural women to develop local health jankars.
  • Develop model village with clean kitchen, clean water and kitchen nutritious garden for demonstration.
